The Portage Terriers are in Selkirk tonight for a meeting with the Steelers in MJHL Hockey.

The Terriers are 4-1 this season after going 2-0 on their northern road trip to OCN and Swan Valley. Terriers' forward Jeremy Leipsic leads the team with 9 points (4G,5A), and shares his thoughts on their year so far.

"I think we had a good start there with a couple games home and home against Virden I thought we played well. Not the start we wanted in Steinbach, obviously almost came back but couldn't get it. Then a successful road trip with a couple of tough games in OCN and Swan. We have to tidy up our defensive zone," admits Leipsic.

The Steelers are 5-1 and 2 points ahead of Portage in second place, with both teams only loss coming to the 6-0 Steinbach Pistons. Terriers' Assistant Coach Paul Harland outlines a few things he wants to see done better tonight.

"The main thing is our compete level needs to be a little stronger off the bat at the start of a game. Our forecheck needs to be a little more aggressive, and we need to make sure we're playing well in all 3 zones."
