The Gladstone Lakers are getting ready for game one of the Tiger Hills Hockey League finals against the Boissevain Border Kings.

The Lakers are coming off of a 3-2 series win over the MacGregor Wild while the Border Kings beat the Killarney Shamrocks in four games.

Head coach of the Lakers Dave Evenson says they've got their work cut out for them.

"Yeah, Boissevain's going to be pretty tough," says Evenson. "They're an extremely stacked team. It's going to be very tough but we'll go out and try our best and see what happens."

He says the Border Kings are the cream of the crop.

"They're probably the best team in the province by far," says Evenson. "They got guys that are getting big salaries there. It's going to be a tough task, but either way, we're going to be proud of our guys and I'm sure everybody is going to be behind us. It's going to be fun."

Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. in Boissevain.
