The junior varsity Saints were able to capture 3rd place last night in the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Volleyball playoffs. They knocked off Westwood in 5 sets, winning the final set 15-9 to finish the game. Head Coach Tricia Elliott says the girls really deserved this victory.

"They were totally excited, and jumping up and down. It was a good feeling because they were down from losing the game on Monday. So they were down about that, and it's nice to come home with some hardware."

Elliott's hopeful last night will not be the end of their volleyball season.

"We've sent in a wildcard for provincials and there's a good shot that we can get in. We'll be finding out in the next couple of days."

The varsity Saints go for bronze today in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference volleyball. They're up against Vincent Massey Winnipeg at 3:30 in Winnipeg.
