All four PCI basketball teams were on the court Monday.

The junior varsity Trojans handed Garden Valley a 64-38 loss last night in exhibition play in Portage.

"The improvement was better," says head coach Darin Arnold. "We ran our offence a little better but we didn't shoot particularly well today. We got 63 points and we could've probably had 80-something. We got layups though, which means we were running our offence correctly."

The JV Saints won their exhibition match over Garden Valley 34-25. Co-Coach Dave McLeod says they're still a work in Progress. "We've only had three practices and we've played five games which really isn't the ratio you want," he says. "Hopefully, over the holidays we can get a few more practices in so the girls can get to know their roles a little bit better."

Both JV clubs are in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference action Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Winnipeg. The Trojans are at Shaftesbury while the Saints visit Kelvin.

PCI's varsity clubs were both on the losing side of the scoresheet in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference action last night in Stonewall.

The Saints lost a tight 49-45 battle to the Rams while the Trojans fell 51-40. The varsity clubs resume league play in the New Year.
