The PCI Saints varsity volleyball team had a busy weekend in Portage la Prairie.

It was the Saints' home tournament this weekend at Portage Collegiate, and the girls were unable to make an appearance in the championship. Head Coach Derek Casper says they're pretty worn out.

"This tournament, we played fairly well, but we came up a little short in the semi-final against Dauphin. We came out a little flat, but I think the girls are just tired. They've played a lot of volleyball the last month.

The Saints have played 25 of 30 days in the past month, and Casper says they've got a little bit of a rest heading into playoffs.

"It'll be a good week off. No tournaments, just one league game, a couple practices. So we should be good."

Vincent Massey Brandon and Dauphin were in the final match of the tournament, with Vincent Massey being crowned champions. Portage's one league game is today when the varsity squads host John Taylor. The Saints are up first at 5, the boys follow at 6:30.
