The Westpark Royals played host to Miami last night in Zone 4 varsity volleyball.

The Royals' varsity girls won in straight sets over the Marlins. Westpark's Juliette Tower's serve was key in securing the 3rd set. She says it's something she's really worked at.

"When I was younger I couldn't serve overhand, and I really wanted too. So I practiced a lot and it just eventually got better, and I concentrate on smart serving more than hard serving."

She says it was a strong team game that earned them the victory.

"If someone messed up we went and made them feel better, we didn't go over and say they could've got that, we coped and we gelled, and we did the best we could."

The Royals' varsity boys repeated with a win of their own, knocking off the Marlins in 4 sets on home court. The Royals are off until Tuesday when they visit St. Paul's Collegiate.
