PLAP City Rollers' Headstone Honeys suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Winnipeg's Bombshell Brawlers over the weekend. They fell 355-56 at the Portage Curling Club Saturday night.

The Honeys were clearly outmatched in this one, struggling to earn the lead jammer position or any sort of points at all. Honeys' MVP The Sherminator says it's tough to get any sort of rhythm going when there are new players out every match.

"We've got along ways to go if we want to beat Winnipeg again. They're a very solid team, and it was the same thing as always we had a bunch of mixed skaters from all over the province, and we had a lot of Kenora girls here this weekend. It's just about working together as a team, and getting to practice with them all year long."

Shermanator slipping by an opponent late in the match

The Sherminator's best jam only scored 9 points for the Honeys, and that was late in the second half. She says Winnipeg is a top team that they can learn from.

"They're very, very good. You have to be quick on your feet, lots of 'juking' in this match. They recover so quick that you can't keep hitting the pack like a normal team, so it's a very tiring game if you're moving that quick back and forth."

The Headstone Honeys next match is against the Brandon B team at the Portage Curling Club August 13th.
