PLAP City Rollers' Headstone Honeys fell in their opening match of the season over the weekend.

The Honeys fell 254 to 48 to Gang Green, but Honeys' skater Cassandra Wild says it was a great opportunity to get to skate with their new players.

"It was our first game of the season, and we had a lot of pick-up players. We haven't played too long with the people that we did have as pick up players, so the first half was getting used to each other."

Wild adds Gang Green is in a higher calibre than the Honeys -- and despite the loss -- the game was still a lot of fun.

"It was just an exhibition game. Gang Green is an A team, we are a B team, so it was really just for fun. It was their home opener and just to get everybody back into game mode for the season."

The Headstone Honey's Home Opener is set for May 28th against the Gapland Rollers from Rocanville Saskatchewan.
