The Central Region continues to lead at the Powersmart Manitoba Summer Games. They have a total 55 medals, 26 gold, 13 silver, and 16 bronze. Winnipeg Gold is in second with 39, and Winnipeg Blue's in 3rd with 33.

Portage Golfer Owen Gillespie finished up his second round of golf with an 82, bringing his final score to 162 overall and good enough for 9th place.

La Salle's 12-Year-Old Sailor Kendra Penner's got a shot a gold today, after finishing ranked 2nd on Monday and 1st Tuesday. Her final race is today at 9 a.m. at Westhawk Lake.

The Central Girl's basketball team fell 74-45 to Winnipeg Gold in the semi-final. They'll go for the bronze medal this morning at 9 against Winnipeg Blue.

Central's Boy's baseball team punched their ticket to the Gold Medal Game yesterday with a 3-1 win over Winnipeg Blue in the semi-final. Central's Head Coach Ryan Borody says it was a stellar day of ball from the boys.

"You know the boys have been coming together really well. I think we got some first game jitters out of the way there, a huge extra inning victory against Westman that kind of put us on a roll. We had some great pitching, and our defense was exceptional when we needed them."

Team Central will face the host -- and undefeated -- Eastman in the gold medal match. Borody says it's going to be a tough one.

"I don't know a lot about (Eastman). They've got some big boys that can swing the bats, but pitching and defense win championships. So hopefully we can continue with that, and we've had some timely hitting here, so we'll just roll with the punches here and see how things turn out."

Central and Eastman go for gold on the diamond at 9.
