The 2016-17 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Playoffs will start later this week. The league is tight with several playoff positions being determined in the final few games of the season. Here's how things will go in the Quarter-finals.

Steinbach Pistons (1) vs Neepawa Natives (8)

The Steinbach Pistons had a stellar year. They finished in first-place with a 49-10-1 record, but couldn't crack the 100-point mark. The Pistons host the Neepawa Natives in the first round. The Natives won 6-3 over Swan Valley Sunday night to earn the final spot in the playoffs. It's the first time Neepawa will see playoff hockey since the 2009-10 season when they fell in the quarter-finals to Dauphin. Neepawa managed one win over Steinbach this season.

Winkler Flyers (2) vs Virden Oil Capitals (7)

The Winkler Flyers locked up the second-place spot with strong play to end the season. They'll host the seventh-seeded Virden Oil Capitals in the first round. This should prove to be a tight series that could go the distance of all seven games. The Flyers and Oil Capitals tied in their season series with both teams winning three times. Each team managed to get a win in their opponent's barn during the regular season. They played their final game of the year against each other with Virden winning 5-3 in Winkler.

OCN Blizzard (3) vs Winnipeg Blues (6)

The Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) Blizzard claimed the third-place position with their overtime loss to Steinbach in their final game of the MJHL regular season. The Blues managed to lock up the sixth-place spot with an overtime loss to end the season as well. The single point tied them with Virden, but the Blues had more regulation wins and jumped ahead in the standings. The Blues only managed two wins off the Blizzard and they came in back-to-back games in Winnipeg. OCN's won the last couple of contests one in Winnipeg and one in OCN.

Selkirk Steelers (4) vs Portage Terriers (5)

The Portage Terriers are headed to Selkirk for their first round matchup. They finished in the fifth spot and will face the Steelers. Selkirk had a chance to jump over the Blizzard in the standings but lost 3-2 to OCN in their final game of the year. Portage and Selkirk finished the season with three wins a piece, the Steelers have one overtime win and have won the last three meetings against the Terriers.
