Central Plains Capitals forward Max Neill was selected 10 overall by Steinbach in the 2016 MJHL Draft.

The Portage la Prairie native was also drafted into the WHL by the Lethbridge Hurricanes 184th overall. Neill's still shocked he went in both drafts, and wasn't banking on either.

"I was really hopeful that I'd get drafted, but like you never know with the draft if you're going to go or not. So I was just really happy to go in both. A couple of my friends got drafted by Steinbach too, so that was pretty cool."

Neill says he's the kind of player that worries about defense first.

"I think I play more of a defensive style. I'm a centreman -- but I do play left wing sometimes -- but I'm a good face-off guy, and I play a lot of penalty kill."

He says there's a lot of work involved in making either team, and it starts with training on and off the ice.
