The MacGregor Mustangs are off to the Zone 7 high school baseball championship.

They took out the Carberry Cougars 16-4 in Austin Tuesday night to punch their ticket to the Zone 7 Finals.

"The kids played really well," says head coach Kyle Mckinstry. "We were going up against a strong Carberry team with a good pitcher and catcher, an overall strong team. We had a real good team effort and came out on top because of it."

Aaron Klassen started the game for the Mustangs on the mound. Jesse Sawatzky came in to finish off the game.

"Aaron threw some hard innings at the start, then Sawatzky came in to get the win for us," says Mckinstry. "The bats really came to life too. A lot of hitting, contact, and we were very aggressive on the base path. The kids really made us proud."

The Zone 7 Final hasn't been scheduled yet but Mckinstry is hoping for next week.
