Portage Collegiate Institute held their athletic awards Thursday.

Grade 12 Gage Foster was named the Senior Male Athlete of the Year for his work on the Trojans' basketball, football, lacrosse, track and field, and badminton teams this year.

"I love playing sports, that's what I've always loved to do," says Foster. "...and to get recognized for playing them and being good at them is a really great accomplishment."

Kassidy Cunningham was awarded her second straight Senior Female Athlete of the year. She participated in volleyball, badminton, basketball, and fastpitch.

"It feels great to take the award home," says Cunningham. "I'm honoured for the second year in a row. I'm just really excited about this."

Cunningham hasn't decided what she's going to do after graduation. As for Foster, he's heading to Queen's University to play football in the fall.
