The Portage Phillies are in action this weekend at Rotary Republic Park during the Portage Potato Festival.

The Phillies host a 4 team tournament that starts this morning. Phillies' Jay Dewis says it's been over a decade since there's been a fastpitch tournament in Portage, and there's going to be some exciting games.

"Our league we play out of Winnipeg, so it's been a little while since we've had the opportunity to play at home. So we're excited for the opportunity."

Dewis says this weekend's action is all for the fans.

"We were able to get 4 teams together, which is a good start. Hopefully, there's a good parody between the 4 teams, so we hope that it'll be a competitive tournament."

There's fastpitch baseball all day today at Rotary Republic Park. The Phillies play at 9 a.m. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. today and the Finals are set for 1 p.m. tomorrow.
