**UPDATED**

The Portage Padres kick off their Santa Clara Baseball League playoffs tonight, but not Portage la Prairie, as originally scheduled. The game's been moved to Austin, because of poor field conditions at Rotary Republic Park.

The Padres finished the regular season in first place overall and by capturing the SCBL pennant, a trip to provincials in August. They welcome the bottom-dwelling Ebb and Flow Lakers for the first of their best of three first round series. Other matchups include Minnedosa(2) vs Carberry(7), Neepawa(3) vs Plumas(6), and Dauphin(4) is taking on Austin(5). The quarterfinals are all best of three series'.

The Padres and the Lakers didn't face each other until the end of the season when the Padres made the trip out to St. Rose for a doubleheader last weekend. Portage won both games to lock up the League Pennant and home advantage through the playoffs. Portage only lost once this season, it came at the hands of the A's back on June 27th. The Lakers managed just one win this season to start the year.

Game 1 is at 7 at Austin. Game 2 is Friday in St. Rose, and Game 3 returns to Portage if necessary Sunday.
