The Portage Blaze fell 4-0 to The Stan Kerns last night in Winnipeg Women's Soccer League Division 2 action.

The Blaze fell behind 2-0 after the first 20 minutes, and couldn't seem to mustar much offense in the first half. Portage had a few good looks in the second, but it wasn't enough to crack the powerful defense of their opponents. The Stan Kerns would add two more goals in the final 15 minutes of the second half.

Blaze's player Cassandra Cadman says they couldn't capitalize on their opportunities.

"We had some opportunities. We had a few corners, and a few crosses. Their goalie had some pressure too, but we didn't have that finishing touch."

Cadman says were getting better as the game progressed.

"The second half I felt that there was a big improvement with ball possession for us."

The Blaze's next game is Sunday in Winnipeg.
