Portage FC tied 2-2 with Southdale's team Spak this morning in their final game of the regular season in U15 Boys Rec League Soccer.

Coach Jerry Lupkowski says the boys came out hard and fast wanting to end on a positive note.

Early in the game Lane Donald scored on a header pass from Logan Burton, giving Portage a 1-0 lead which they carried to the end of the first half. Southdale scored a couple of quick goals in the second half giving them 2-1 lead but Coach Lupkowski says the Portage boys didn't give in.

"They stayed with the game plan; fought hard, played hard and with less than three minutes to go Darren [Reimer] got the ball up the middle to Avery [Coltart] and Avery put it in the net to tie the game. It was a very exciting game. [I'm] really proud of the guys; they tried hard, played hard from the first whistle to the last."

Portage FC has now made it into the "A" Division round-robin and Lupkowski says they hope to keep up the momentum.
