Portage Minor Hockey Association's Annual General Meeting is less than a month away.

"This year the AGM is on April 12th in the Multi-Purpose Room at Stride Place," says President Peter Fedak. "There's a few board positions opening up this year. Secretary, Registrar, and potentially Vice-President. It's a great chance to get yourself on the board and help shape minor hockey here in Portage."

Fedak says it's important for parents and members to attend if they want to have a say in how the season looks, or what changes may take place.

"We do always try to implement a couple of changes and see what's going on by taking in feedback from people mainly at the AGM. This year they wanted more development, so we tried to get it in. We brought out free power skating for everyone, we had some checking clinics, the Breakfast Club was well attended, and we had shared ice practices. So we want to know how people received everything, and what we think going forward into next season."

"We want to institute potential changes for next year, and some of those require a vote from the membership," he adds. "If you're not there to vote and you don't like what happens, you're stuck with what the rest of the membership wants. We're hopeful our suggestions are positive and we want to get things moving forward, some things don't need a vote but we will be informing the people of what is going to happen. So it's very important that you're there if you have a child in PMHA."
