The 2016 Powersmart Manitoba Summer Games get underway Monday morning with Golf.

The Central Region's U-14 Boy's baseball team is on the diamond today facing Winnipeg Gold at noon. U-14 Baseball's Head Coach Ryan Borody says they've got a very talented team.

"We've got a very big area, and we kind of have representation from one end of the area to the other. So I'm looking forward to it. We've had some kids that have had some very good showing at Provincials with their club teams, and I'm hoping they can carry that in."

The U-16 Central Region Boy's basketball team has their first match of the tournament at 12:45 p.m. Head Coach Darin Arnold gives his thoughts on what needs to be done to ensure success.

"Discipline, a lot of discipline. We know Winnipeg has the advantage so the thing I'm stressing to them is the less turnovers we have, the better. If we're going to keep it close we can't give them extra possessions to score on us."

The Central Region's U-16 girl's basketball team goes at 2:30 against Eastman. Get the full Summer Games schedule here.
