The Prairie Fire Black U-15 volleyball team finished 4th place at Provincials over the weekend. They were ranked 12th heading into the weekend's competition, and Head Coach Teri Duclos says they beat some tough competition along the way.

"We got matched up against some really high ranked, awesome teams. I'm not surprised by how well they did."

Duclos says a real turning point was when the girls took out Cats Gold.

"The girls really came out, and that was an emotional hard fought battle. Our defense was amazing -- our blockers and digging things up -- we kind of shut their offense down."

She adds the girls were very happy with their result.

"They were tired, and there were injuries -- a few girls have some small injuries that need to rest up before Nationals. But I think the girls are all pretty stoked, and pretty happy, and pretty proud of themselves."

Next for the Prairie Fire Black team is Nationals in Regina.
