The PCI Saints had no trouble with Kildonan East yesterday in Winnipeg Women's High School 'B' Division Hockey.

Saints' Captain Bailey Grantham led the way with an outstanding 8 points -- 5 goals and 3 assists -- along with Cassidy George's 4. Saints' Head Coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie says 3 other players scored in the lopsided victory, including two first-year Saints.

"It's nice to see when those new girls get their first goals. One came from Rhiannon Ice from the point, and Trynity Mercier sniped a nice one off the wing for her first goal of the year, and as a Saint."

PCI's won their last 2 games with a combined 18 goals for, and only 1 goal against. Clark-Gillespie discusses how they deal with the wide spectrum of talent across the league.

"There's still a lot of work we have to do. Those games when we're not facing a lot action coming into your own end are tough, but we don't view them as easy games where you just kind of coast."

She adds they didn't want anyone trying to go end-to-end, and it was a real team victory. They're back in action Thursday when they host Miles MacDonell at the BDO Centre.
