The PCI Saints are 3-0 to start the season after tonight's 17-6 trouncing of Morden in Zone 4 High School Fastpitch.

The Saints have steadily increased their number of runs scored per game, going from 5 in their first, to 13 in their second, and finally 17 tonight. PCI's Head Coach Cam Asham says they want to be consistently strong at the plate.

"We had talked before the game how we wanted to put good at bats together consistently, and kind of bunch them together, and hopefully that would translate into runs for us and that's what happened."

Emily Smith pitched the complete game for the Saints. Asham outlines her night.

"She pitched very well again for us, she was solid. A couple of hiccups, a couple of bad hops and mishaps through the game. So she gave up 6 runs on 4 hits, and struck out 6 along the way."

Asham says it was a real strong night up and down the line-up.

"Kiera Shwaluk had her first home run of the year, and she had a couple other base hits as well. Emily Smith had a good night at the plate too, but it was just solid up and down the order."

The Saints have their home tournament this weekend at Rotary Republic Park.
