The PCI Saints fell 4-1 to Fort Richmond in their Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey League opener last night in Winnipeg.

The Saints found themselves down 3-0 heading into the 3rd period, after struggling through the first two periods. Saints' Maddie Shwaluk scored their lone goal halfway through the 3rd period to cut the lead to 2, but FRC would add another to seal the win.

Saints' goalie Morgan Klassen stopped 28 shots and played a stellar game between the pipes according to Head Coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie. She adds they've got 9 new-to-hockey players on the club, and their inexperience showed, but she's confident they'll learn and adapt quickly.

The Saints next challenge is Monday when they host SJR at the PCU Centre.
