Portage Collegiate Institute (PCI) Saints shutout Northlands Parkway 14-0 in four innings last night in Zone 4 High School Fastpitch.

The Saints exploded for seven runs in the first inning and never looked back. Head coach Cam Asham was pleased to see the bats come to life so early.

That's something we've done the last couple of games now, and it's something we like to see. We talked about getting things going early in our pregame chat, and it was nice to see all the girls have quality at-bats their first time through the order."

Kassidy Cunningham picked up the shutout for the Saints, pitching all four innings with three strikeouts. Asham says their defensive game was on.

"They were solid tonight. It was nice to have Kassidy back, and she pitched well for us, but we were really solid defensively when we needed to be.

The Saints are back in action today, when they host Carman in a makeup game at Rotary Republic Park. First pitch is 3 p.m.
