Portage Terrier forward Jeremey Leipsic has been nominated for the CJHL forward of the year award. Yesterday the CJHL announced their five finalists for the honour: Jeremey Leipsic (MJHL), Grant Hebert (CCHL), Jack Jacome (OJHL), Braeden Allkins (SIJHL), and Brendan Harris (BCHL).

"After practice I got the news" says Leipsic. "Obviously having a good year myself, but I was just trying to do everything I could for my team as well. I am happy for the nomination."

Leipsic was one of five players in the CJHL to record 100 points or more. He lead the MJHL in scoring in the regular season and playoffs. He has already picked up the MJHL Hockey Ability and Sportsmanship award. He was also named to the MJHL first all-star team and was the RBC player of the month three times.

The winner will be announced during the week of May 8-12 heading into the RBC Cup in Cobourg Ontario.
