Two nights after a loss on their home ice, the Portage Terriers returned the favour at the MTS IcePlex.

The club was in Headingley for game four of the best-of-seven Addison Division final against the Winnipeg Blues and came out with some big time goals early on. Connor Faupel got the scoring started with his 2nd of the playoffs at the 7:19 mark of the first. Just over six minutes later, Cody Nelson went hard to the net and had a Tanner Waldvogel pass deflect off of him and in, giving Portage the 2-0 edge. They'd make it 3-0 before the first was over when Brent Wold's pass hit a Winnipeg defender and found the back of the net with 28 seconds left in the frame.

Brent Wold wins the face-off and sends the puck back to Justin Slobozian on defense.

Just over two minutes into the second, the Terriers extended their lead to 4-0. Shaq Merasty got in alone and made a nifty move before burying his 3rd of the postseason. Jeff Borse finally got the Blues on the board midway through the frame, making it 4-1 going into the third.

Brendan Harms shares a laugh with the referee during last night's tilt.

The Terriers made sure thoughts of a comeback were dashed early, picking up a goal just 2:58 into the period. Yvan Pattyn pinched in and potted his 3rd of the playoffs, making it 5-1. Kurt Keats added another for the Blues but that was as close as they'd come, giving Portage the 5-2 victory.

The defensive combination of Yvan Pattyn and Justin Slobozian provided a steady presence on the blue-line.

Adam Iwan got the start between the pipes and brought his "A" game to the rink, stopping 21 of 23 shots to move his playoff record to 6-1.

Adam Iwan's playoff success continued as the Winnipeg product picked up his sixth win in seven starts.

Defenseman Connor Faupel finished the night with a goal and an assist. He says after a tough loss on Tuesday night, the game showed the resiliency of the squad.

The penalty kill proved to be an essential part of the Portage win. The Terriers successfully killed off all six penalties called against them, including four straight to end the second period. Forward Brent Wold says it's something they've been working on and the success is good to see.

With the series all even at two games apiece, tonight's game five promises to be a thriller. The puck drops at 7:30 pm at the PCU Centre.
