The Portage Terriers and Waywayseecappo Wolverines cracked a deal that will see the teams swap multiple forwards.

The Terriers traded the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) playing rights of 19-year-old forward Brandon Stanley, 17-year-old forward Brendan Martin and a 2017 first-round pick to Waywayseecappo in exchange for the CJHL playing rights of 18-year-old forward Ty Enns and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) list rights of forward Kolton Shindle, 15, the team announced today.

Enns, a Cartwright, Man., native, recorded 18 goals and 18 assists in 55 games as a rookie during the 2015-16 season with Waywayseecappo. The 6-foot, 175-pound forward has six points (3-3--6) in five games this season to lead all Wolverines scorers.

"Obviously it was a big trade with the pieces that were involved, but we think that we've added a real good piece in Ty Enns," says Terriers head coach/GM Blake Spiller. "He's a speedy, scoring, physical winger that I think will be an impact player for us and when those guys come available you have to do what you can to get them into your organization."

"We had to give something up to get something real good in return," Spiller continues. "Stanley was a real good piece of our team last season ... I know Wayway is excited to add both him and Brendan Martin to their lineup.

Stanley, a Sioux Lookout, Ont. native, had 35 points (16-19--35) and 118 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Terriers during the 2015-16 season. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound winger added six points through the Terriers' 11 game run to a second straight MJHL championship.

Martin, from Thunder Bay, Ont., cracked the Terriers' roster out of training camp and has yet to record a point through five games. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward had 22 goals and 30 assists in 43 games playing in the MMAAAHL with the Kenora Thistles during the 2015-16 season.

Shindle plays for the Pembina Valley Hawks in Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League. As a bantam with Pembina Valley in the Winnipeg AAA league, he had 75 points (46-29--75) in 31 games during the 2015-16 season. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound forward was selected by Waywayseecappo with the second overall pick in the 2016 MJHL draft. He was also a 13th round pick, 285th overall, of the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2016 WHL draft.

"He's a young guy who is a top prospect in our league and in Manitoba," Spiller says. "Hopefully we'll get to see him here in another year or two."
