Portage Terriers' goaltender Kurtis Chapman's been recognized for his strong play over the last week.

He's the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week after winning three straight games against the OCN Blizzard to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven championship series. The Airdrie, Alberta native was outstanding in Game 5 stopping 40 of 41 shots for a nail-biting 3-1 victory over the Blizzard in OCN. He's sporting a .930 save per cent and 1.08 goals against average over the last three games.

The runners up are 18-year-old forward Takato Cox of the Portage Terriers and 20-year-old forward Tristan Elie of the OCN Blizzard. Game six is Wednesday night in Portage la Prairie.
