The Portage Terriers increased their series lead with last night's 4-0 victory over the Winnipeg Blues. Portage leads the series 2-0, with the series heading back to Portage Wednesday night for game 3.

Terriers' Captain Brad Bowles was the first on the board, as he lifted one over the Blues' netminder less than 5 minutes into the game. Brett Orr would add a Powerplay goal for the dogs late in the frame to increase their lead to 2.

The physicality continued in the second, with 8 penalties between the two clubs. Terriers' forward Chase Brakel scored off a great pass from Braydon MacDonald on a two-on-one, with Orr making a stretch pass to start the play.

Portage was the more physical team in the 3rd, repeatedly throwing hits at Blues' defenders. More often then not there was a scrum after the whistle, and neither team looked to be holding back. Adam Wowryk would add an empty net for the dogs, which led to a scrum with multiple players being assessed misconducts.

Terriers' goalie Nathan Park stopped all 27 shots he faced for the shutout. Park talks about the victory.

"The guys are giving me sight lanes, and I'm able to see the puck and the players in front of me. So that always helps, and I think that when you're seeing everything, you're pretty much stopping everything."

Portage's Chase Brakel seemed to gain a lot of confidence over the course of the game. He talks about Winnipeg's aggressive style of play.

"We're just sticking to our game. We try not to worry about what they're doing, or if they're running guys or not, but obviously we protect ourselves and protect our teammates and that's all you can do."

Game 3 is Wednesday night at the PCU Centre. Puck drop is 7:30.
