The Portage Terriers take on Swan Valley tonight in Portage la Prairie.

It's the dogs' first game of November after going 9-and-2 through October. Those 2 losses accumulated 19 goals against for the Terriers but bounced back to allow 5 over the next two against Winkler and Waywayseecappo. "I think it was just moving the puck quicker," says Assistant Coach Paul Harland when asked what had changed defensively. "Those two games were tough because there were some bounces that weren't going our way, we weren't scoring, and everything that they were shooting was finding a way to get in the net. If we move the puck quick, then you have a chance to get out of your zone."

Defender Lane Taylor says it may have been a situation where players were just trying to do too much.

"Everybody started to come together and do their own jobs, and try to keep things simple. I think we're just starting to get more bounces I think is the main thing. Things weren't going our way when, and it's tough to play when things are like that."

It's a tight race in the MJ with 7 points separating the top 6 teams. The Terriers sit in 4th heading into tonight's game. Puck drop is at 7:30, the pre-game show is at 7:20 on CFRY and PortageOnline.com
