The Central Plains female midget Capitals have a busy weekend ahead.

They've got three Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League games in three days, with one at the BDO Centre Saturday night. They're up against Westman tonight, Interlake Saturday in Portage, and Sunday they visit Pembina Valley in Morden. Head coach Ferdi Nelissen says they're coming off a good weekend of exhibition hockey against two Saskatchewan teams. If they put forth the same effort, he thinks they'll compete in each game this weekend.

"We go into every game thinking (it's) winnable. The league is the best for female hockey players aged 15-to-17, and we know every game will be tough," Nelissen says. "...Saturday's game is probably the most winnable But we think we've got a chance to beat Westman and Pembina Valley this weekend."

"We've been playing even with those teams in the four games we've had (against them). If we show up and play a complete 60-minute game, we really do give ourselves a shot at winning all three."

The Caps are well behind Westman and Pembina Valley in the standings, but they're only five points ahead of last-place Interlake.

Tonight's game goes at 8 p.m. in Hartney. Saturday's is at 4 p.m. at the BDO Centre in Portage. Sunday's game is in Morden at 2:30 p.m.
