The Portage Islanders and Notre Dame Hawks battle for 1st place in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League tonight.

Portage still hasn't lost this season and sit first place with a 5-0 record, Notre Dame's 1 points back at 4-0-1. They met in the season opener with Portage coming out on top 4-3 in overtime. Islanders' Defender Jeremy Brooks expects another tight battle tonight.

"They're a good team and they really come out to compete every night. It will be an interesting battle for first place."

The Islanders are finally back in Portage la Prairie tomorrow when they host Warren. Tonight's game starts at 8 p.m. in Notre Dame.

There's 2 other SEMHL games tonight. Morden's visiting Stonewall, and Carmen's in Altona. Both games start at 8 p.m. as well.
