It's game day for the PCI Trojans Field Lacrosse team.

They're in Winnipeg to face Springfield, in their first game of the Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League. Head Coach Al Patterson outlines this year's team.

"We should probably have one of the best goaltenders in the league, and in our division for sure. We've got some of the strongest offensive players definitely, and we've got a decent group of core defensemen that are returning."

Trojans' Grade 10 goalie Riley Sveistrup's excited to get the season going. He feels they'll be one of the stronger teams in the league.

"You know we've got a lot of vets compared to last year, and I think that every body here has played at least a year or two. So I think we're going to show everyone that we're a lot better than we were last year, and we're going to give it a good shot to win it all this year."

Patterson talks about what he's expecting from his players this season.

"I'm looking forward to it. I think it's going to be exciting, I think it's going to be a decent season. I just hope the players have fun, and learn a little bit about the game, and maybe get an opportunity to move on with it."

Today's game goes at 3:45 at Optimist Park.
