It'll be an intense evening of football tonight for PCI Trojans. They're in Brandon for an exhibition tournament with the three high schools in that city.

Coach Brent Irwin says it's important for the team, as they look toward the regular season in the Winnipeg High School Football League. He stresses they've only scrimmaged against teammates.

"Just not quite the same as when you're going up against the enemy territory, and the opposition is not your teammates. For a few players it's going to be their first time in game situations, and for the vets, it's going to be time for them to hone their skills and bring up the intensity level."

Irwin says the plan is to let all the players see the field. He adds it's a different format, with mini-games.

"There are two games going on the field at the same time, so they split the field in half. It's just 45 minute games, without special teams involved in the game. So there'll be lots of reps that they get. We're doing three games in a row, with a 10 minute intermission between each game, so there's going to be lots of time for players to get reps, not just the starters."

Irwin says the mini-games start at 5, and will be finished by 8.
