The PCI Trojans locked up a spot in the Winnipeg West Athletic Conference Tier 2 soccer championship with their 4-nil shutout victory over Shaftesbury yesterday.

Trojans' striker Kierin Derksen scored two goals in the victory. He says their offense wore down their opponents, and they took advantage of it.

"I thought we played pretty well. We passed it and used the wings to spread them out, got them moving, they got tired and we capitalized."

Trojans' Daylen Green and Lane Coltar also netted goals in the win. Green's goal was a late header off a corner, he says it was nice to finally finish one.

Green watches his header go up and over the goalie into the top corner.

"I was trying to get that all game. I think I had about 7 chances there, but right at the end I just had it -- pointed it right at the ground -- and it went right over the goalie."

The Trojans now await word of their opponent and location of the final. The championship game is scheduled for Monday.
