The PCI Trojans opened up their season in Zone 4 High School Soccer League, last night, with a 4-1 win over St. James Jimmies at Rotary Park in Portage la Prairie. The Trojans only have one game in Portage this season, and they took advantage on their home field. Trojans' head coach Chad Green says scoring the early goal to take the lead helped the team a lot.

"The game was good. We were never behind in the game so the guys really had no fear of losing and played well. We always seemed to have control out there. We went up 3-0, then they got a goal, but we got another one late in the game, so it was good."

Green says although the team got the win, there are still a number of things they need to work on, especially corner kicks.

"The biggest thing that we're lacking is getting on balls in the air. We struggled with that last year and again this year. Out of probably half a dozen corner kicks, I think we only got a head on one of them, so that's a big problem."

The Trojans will look to pick up another win on Wednesday, when they travel to Winnipeg to play the John Taylor Pipers.
