The PCI Trojans were successful last night in the Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League.

They went up against the Miles Mac Buckeyes in Winnipeg, and held out for a 4-3 victory. Trojans' Assistant Coach Bill Marsh says they went in with high spirits, but met some adversity early.

"They got a quick goal on us, and we also had one of our more significant players go down early in the game. It kind of put us into a bit of a lull, or a tailspin, but we battled back."

Marsh says they've been working on their offensive structure -- and it showed -- but they could've been better defensively.

"The team has been having difficulty putting it into the game, but the did do that, so that was nice to see. I wouldn't say defensively it was a strongest game, but the boys did what they had to do to pull out the win."

Trojans' Tyson Dyck and Tyler Grantham each scored in the win, Adam Lamblez netted the other 2. Marsh adds they still need to work on a few things, starting with their offensive attack.

"Making sure that we're running (the offense) on a regular basis. We need to make sure that we always play strong defensively, making sure that we're playing the stick good and strong."

The Trojans are back in action Tuesday against Transcona.
