The Portage Terriers and Steinbach Pistons start the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Turnbull Cup series tonight, for the second year in a row in Portage.

The Dogs clinched home ice advantage after taking first overall during the regular season. Portage hasn't lost this MJHL post-season -- they're 8-0 after sweeping the Selkirk Steelers and Winnipeg Blues.

The Pistons' road was a little longer. They swept Swan Valley in 4, and needed all 7 to defeat the Winkler Flyers, after going down 2-0 to start the series. The Terriers and Pistons will now have faced each other in the past 4 MJHL playoffs, twice in the final.

Terriers' Assistant Coach Paul Harland says they have a tight recent history, making for an exciting series.

"I think there's obviously a rivalry that's built up from guys that have been playing in the league for two or three years now. So I think it'll be an intense series, and I think the fans will enjoy the final very much."

Terriers' Assistant Captain Brett Orr says the experience helps going in, but it's going to be a tough battle for the Cup.

"It's definitely pretty nice that we did this last year, but it's the same team. A lot of guys from Steinbach are back too, and they're definitely going to be really hungry for it. So I think we're really going to have to match their physicality, and let our speed and hard work do the rest for us."

Harland outlines their opponents.

"They're a well balanced team. They've got four lines that can play, their back-end -- they've got some guys that can move the puck, and they've got some guys that finish checks -- and their goal tending has obviously been very good. So they're going to be a good match for us."

Game 1 of the Turnbull Cup final is at 7:30 the PCU Centre. Catch the pre-game show on CFRY and portageonline.com at 7:20.
