This year is the fifth edition of the Western Canada Cup tournament and the Portage Terriers are the only team to have gone three years in a row. The Terriers are the biggest underdog story at the WCC this year. They finished the regular season fifth in the MJHL with a record of 37-19-4. The Terrier offense was first in the league, but their defense was fifth. They upset the #4 Selkirk Steelers, #1 Steinbach Pistons, and #3 OCN Blizzard each in six games on way to their third Turnbull Cup in as many years. The Terriers have two players from Alberta and two from Saskatchewan.
