Portage's R4U ringette team will have the chance to play a game during the first intermission of the Winnipeg Jets game today. Scott Van Damme is the head cocah of the girls team, and explains how the team was chosen.

"We were fortunate as we were 1 of 3 ringette teams in all of Manitoba to be drawn to play at and attend a Winnipeg Jets game. Timbits has provided 26 free tickets to our club, and our 14 players will all get to take the ice during the 1st intermission and play a 3 minute, brief ringette game."

Van Damme says the girls are excited to play.

"They're all very excited. Our squad is aged 3-7 and we've been practicing 3 minute mini-games at practice, and hope to put on a good show for the crowd."

Today's Jets game is at 2pm when they host Anaheim.
