The PCI Saints are the 2016 Zone 4 Fastpitch Champions.

The Saints went undefeated through the Championship Tournament, and defeated the Garden Valley Zodiacs 6-2 in the final to capture their 3rd title in as many years. Saints' graduating Pitcher Emily Smith pitched a no hitter in their first game of the day, and finished the tournament with the win over GVC. Smith gives her thoughts on the day.

Smith had a great day throwing for the Saints

"We played really good defensively, offensively we took some time to string some hits together, but we ended up getting enough hits to win. It feels good to win the Zone's 3 times."

Smith was also an offensive force for PCI, earning 3 RBI's -- 2 off a double -- in the final game. Saints' Head Coach Cam Asham's thrilled to take home the school's 3rd Zone Title in-a-row.

"Good, definitely a good feeling. It's always our goal going into the season -- that's our first step -- is winning that Zone Championship, and yeah we're definitely proud and we're very happy."

Saints' graduating Catcher Sam Turner is excited to be going for another Provincial Championship in her final year at PCI.

"Very excited, it'd be really nice. Grade 12 girls, back to back, it would be awesome. We've been working up until this point, and I would say our season starts now. This is what we've trained for all year, and to take home a Provincial Banner again is the goal."

The Manitoba Provincial Fastpitch Championships are in Morden in June.
