Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Portage la Prairie's Paint Night was a hit among its participants at Trinity United Church.

"It really seemed like everyone had a great time last night," says BBBS Executive Director Dawn Froese. "The funds from the event will all go toward our mentoring programs. Matching children between the ages of 6 to 17 with an adult who will mentor them and be their friend. There were 20 people that took part and a lot that have never done it before."

One painter was Tim Pedden. "I was really looking forward to it, and it was a lot of fun," he says. Pedden got tickets to paint night from his mother for his birthday and brought his wife along for the fun. "I'm an art teacher so I do a little bit (of painting). I'm a bit of a new art teacher so this was probably a pseudo-professional development night as well," he laughs.

Jocelyn Foxon used to work for BBBS. "I was there for about two years maybe three or four years ago.
