Tomorrow night sees the start of a three-night run of Annie, Jr at Portage la Prairie's William Glesby Centre.

It's the end result of about 6 months of work by the 8 Bit Theatre Company.

Chris Kitchen talks about the dedication of the 26-member cast over that time.

"Practicing their songs, starting right at the beginning of January, and we focused right on that. And then they moved into choreography -- we've had a wonderful choreographer volunteer this year. His name is Fabian, and he's been working very hard. The kids love him. And then we block, and then practice, practice, practice, with it all together. Our director Stephanie Kaufmann has been doing an amazing job as well, tying all the elements in."

Ryley-Anne Steeden's in the lead role, and she's no stranger to the stage.

"I've done four years of acting prior to this. I've been in Willy Wonka Jr, The Little Mermaid Jr, and Shrek the Musical Jr."

Steeden has a couple of favourite parts of the play.

"I really enjoy the first scene, where all the orphans come out together. My favourite song is Tomorrow."

Besides tomorrow night, Annie, Jr will run Saturday evening, and Sunday afternoon. Here's where you'll find more information.
