The Arborg Fair and Rodeo is a big venture which gets bigger every year and requires a lot of preparation. That's from Arborg Mayor Randy Sigurdson who says the committee in charge of the rodeo is applying for a grant.

He notes some of the things which have to be prepared for the summer event.

"There's a lot of preparation for that, there's dancing and fireworks and all kind of things. There's tractor pulls, the rodeo circuit comes to town on that weekend. So they need to get all the little pieces put together so that it works well for them."

Sigurdson explains the rodeo committee does great work which makes the rodeo one of the town's biggest events of the year. He adds they'd like to give all the support they can to the committee.

"We gave them a letter of support so they can apply for the various things that they apply for but it's not going to occur until the summer so we thought it best for us to make our final decisions on the money part of it during our budget discussion."

He adds the budget discussions are just beginning and will be taking place mostly in March.
