The Village of Arden has changed the location of its post office. Municipality of Glenella-Lansdowne Reeve Richard Funk says the old post office was getting outdated and the new location in the ex-municipal office is a much nicer spot.

"The old building was obsolete and it just got to the point where we needed out of there, or else we were going to have to spend a lot of money to bring it up to speed. We had the ex-municipal building that was in good shape, so we renovated the office and we used the old council chambers for the post office. We had the door already in the right spot on the building, and it's very nice inside."

Funk explains why the post office was moved.

"There were no water works in the old building and it just got outdated and the heat bill was huge for the little place that it was. The new building is insulated and it's a good building and a very unique place, so it really worked out well. Everybody's very happy with it so far...I haven't heard of anything wrong with it and it's really working well. The lady that does all of the mail is very happy with it, so I think it was a successful venture."

Funk says the grand opening of the new post office is this Friday.

"We made a new post office in Arden-we moved it over to the ex-municipal office. We're having the grand opening for it on the 24th of June between 9am and 11am. The ribbon cutting will be at 10am and we're having refreshments and food, so everybody that gets their mail in Arden is invited to come to the grand opening."
