The Town of Stonewall's considering a request made by the Teulon Cross Country Ski Club at the last Council meeting.

They asked Council for some financial assistance for their volunteer-operated facility.

Mayor Lockie McLean says they pointed out many people from Stonewall also use their trails, and they're not asking for much. He adds, "It's just so good to see that in this day and age, you've got a volunteer group, running a first-class ski facility, doing only for the good of the community. So, I'm sure when our council meets the weekend of March 19th, to do our town budget, that we'll look at some way of helping them."

McLean feels supporting other parts of the region is important, because "...around us, people come to Stonewall for all sorts of shopping, and they use our facilities. We're glad to not only recognize that, but try to help promote making that particular facility (Teulon Cross Country Ski Club) be successful."
