Saturday's the day for special presentations and fundraisers for the Austin and Area Lions Club.

Chad Bodnarchuk"The Austin Area Lions will be hosting our annual Lions night on April 8th, at 5:30 at the Austin Community Hall," says member Chad Bodnarchuk. "Basically, what we do there is have a roast beef meal, a couple of presentations, and a major presentation with the Austin Community Centre. That will be for our Legacy Project."

Bodnarchuk says the Legacy Project honours the Lions' service over the world for 100 years, and in celebration, a fair amount of funds ($5,500.00) is being given to the Austin Community Centre for a new picnic shelter.

He adds they're also formally presenting the Sidney Community Centre with the donation of an automated external defibrillator. About $5,000 will be raised that night and it all goes back into the community for medical assistance or other projects.

Bodnarchuk adds, "It's a great night to tell the community what the Lions are doing, how much money we put back in the community, and to raise more funds to put back into the community."
