A fundraising show and sale is slated to take place in Austin on Saturday. Ken Penner, one of the event's organizers, says they decided to hold the fundraiser to try and help the Guenther family, whose three-year-old son is being treated for leukemia. Penner notes Owen's parents grew up in the Austin area and the family now lives closer to Gladstone. He says Owen was diagnosed a little over a year ago and must undergo treatments for another two years, adding the family now has to travel to Winnipeg up to three times a week so they hope to raise some money to assist with those costs.

Penner notes the show and sale will feature little tractors and trucks which are very collectible. He says they have some vendors coming in for the event to sell toys and several local businesses have donated items for a silent auction as well. Penner adds they'll also be serving a lunch, which will be by donation.

The fundraiser will be held in the Austin Hall from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. Penner says they hope to see a lot of folks come out and help support the Guenther family.
