A man is facing charges after a break-in at Portage Laundromat on Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage la Prairie yesterday, RCMP say in a release.

Mounties say at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 19, a call came in of an alarm sounding at Portage Laundromat. Officers arrived on scene to find a suspect inside the building. A 35-year-old man was arrested for breaking and entering. Police say he was also found attempting to steal a large quantity of cigarettes. The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear before the court at a later date.
