The Victoria Day long weekend starts this evening, and campers are all set to enjoy the great weather forecast.

Sportsman's Corner Campground owner Len Johnson describes the campground's conditions.

"Things are looking really good this year. For once, I think we're going to have some decent weather. Really strange for Manitoba May long weekend, but it's looking good. And the campground is booked right up full. The drum are biting, some pickerel are coming in off the river. So, things are looking good. It's definitely the weather. The weather looks good for this weekend. The people watch the forecast, and lots of bookings have just come in the last week or so."

Miller's Camping Resort owner Paresh Ghedia says everything's looking good their way as well.

"Actually things are going good. This year we had a kind of good spring. The weather is good, and things are kind of a little dry, which is allowing us to do work. And the forecast is really good for the weekend. So, people are really excited and that's the reason we are pretty booked up."

Don Oftedal of Ofty's Riverside Campground says he's been doing a lot of spring cleanup in preparation

"Oh, it's all just a normal spring maintenance cleaning up the grass, picking up leaves, and picking up branches, cutting grass, making sure everything's ready for when the campers get here. We're all booked up for the weekend and looking for a good crowd. We had a lot of bookings from before when it was cold. But now that it's warmed up were getting quite a few."
